I totally agree although there is enough chaaos on this road under normal circumstances so pity help with a total closure to allow installation!!! :(

In saying that the Warning sign on the  Freeman's Way approach has been flashing for five weeks so if the maintenance/notice is the same with 30cm higher units there is no guarantee of no further occurrence!!!

The following information came from a "drop in" event at Merlin's Bridge Welfare Hall held last Tuesday (4th December).
In addition to the information on the leaflet, note that for the closure of the Pembroke Road, the Clay Lanes will be closed to traffic, except residents and emergency vehicles, and a free bus service will run to take pedestrians from one side of the bridge to the other. It follows the recommended diversionary route (via Burton).

Will the new bridge be any higher than the current one, to avoid accidents with high sided vehicles.  We've had a few!

Write up advises gain of 30 cms.
They cannot easily change the rail track level so assume less ballast and optimised girder/metal construction on the base plate to achieve additional height clearance. ::)

Yes, the road to bridge height will be increased by about 30cm. (Every little helps!)
A compound has been fenced off, taking a chunk of the car park and some of the grass area, for their equipment.
There is now a lot less parking available, so be warned!

The fenced off grass area is being made into hard standing (Tarmac) with its own access directly on to the road.
After the bridge has been replaced this will become additional car parking.
