This little imp looks as if he is in an urban setting but there are some lovely views around.
If you have seen him its going to be easy if not perhaps more of a challenge. ;)
We have been stunned into silence, Colin. The first (and second) clues cannot come too quickly.
Unless that water feature is one of those "Barrancos" you find in Spain.
I thought everyone had switched off!!!. ;)
Right- Clue 1 Behind and to the East of the statue at some distance there is well known travel route zig-zagging up a steep incline.
Now come on you should get it now!!! ::)
I'm inclined to lean more towards the French or Italian Alps myself.
You've been to some odd places on your holidays Colin. Recap. A well known(though obviously not to me) tourist route winding upwards.(How far upwards?) Judging by the shadows are we in equatorial regions?
Now the U3A rules allows only one proper clue a day suggest either concentrate on continent then country OR the "form" of the tourist route. ;D
Now please remember there is rugby on tomorrow, France v Ireland, so please try and clear this today!!. ;)
I have faith in you. ::)
OK then EUROPE!
Your right Geoff Europe - and I am sorry I should have said NOT French or Italian Alps or Colin definitely NOT equitorial. :)
Are we back in Spain again?
Remind me about these U3A Rules again Colin!

No we are not back in Spain Colin, it was far too hot for me!!!. 8)
The U3A rules are mainly to stop the contributors getting the answer too quickly!!.
I should not do this but is it "a boy playing a flute" or someone with "darker intentions" !! ;)
Yes now you mention it I can see his little horns sprouting. An evil-looking joker to be sure!
Clue 2
Now you do not seem to be getting very far with the country or mode of transport so to help a bit, and since the rugby is on this afternoon ;)- you all know my interest in railways AND the "zig-zaggy" bit goes FROM 1440 meters up to 1850 metres, 4720ft to 6060ft in old money!!!. Obviously if you are "slipping" down the heights are the other way around.
PS Rugby starts at 2-45pm!!!!
Is there anybody there????
Is Austria 'warmer'[ than Spain?
Definitely warmer than Spain was but not quite in the right country yet Geoff!!. ::)
Switzerland any nearer!
At last!!!!-now you are cooking on gas- you may still make the rugby kick off!!!. ;D

for a stock photo.
Some debate if its a boy with a flute or the devil, because there is a possible link to the Devils Bridge close by (perhaps a WiTW in the future ;))
Over to you Geoff -I think Colin will not be happy because he is a railway man as well.
I attach a photo of the zig-zag route of the railway which you can see from the statue location in the High St. of Andermatt.
Where did you get the idea I was a railway buff Colin! Nevertheless I must congratulate on your choice of witw also your photos. I was literally nowhere in that last quest.
Hi Colin -I was getting concerned where you were!!!.
I thought you were a railway fan as well - that's the trouble with old age the facts are right but not necessarily in the right order, as Eric Morecambe would say!!. ;D
I may have transposed you with Geoff and Sonia Nicolle who have been on a few GRJ holidays on the trains.
You and Penny missed some nice Fish and Chips today.
Take care.
